GI specialist appointment update

September 3, 2008

I received a call from Olivia’s allergist this afternoon.  He looked into the wait times for her GI referral because he was surprised we hadn’t heard anything yet and was told it would be 10-12 months!!  We’re two months in now. so it looks like next spring at the earliest…

Her cinnamon SPT (skin prick test) and challenge are scheduled for November 12th, after she turns two.  I’ll get in touch with her dietician about making sure all of our bases are covered when she stops the Alimentum Formula in November and switches to just rice milk.  We won’t challenge dairy again until after she’s seen the GI specialist.  For the time being, we remain status quo.

School tomorrow!

10-12 months seems unreal!!! I think the l;ongest we have waited was2 months to see someone and with a little nudge from our pediatrician they got him in 3 weeks sooner. Hopefully the wait is worth it and they can resolve some of her issues and make more foods tolerable.
