Obsess much?

September 23, 2008

Two of my children are showing signs of obsessive-compulsive tendencies.  This became clear when my mother emailed me this picture of Sarah today.

Those are tiny, decorative glass beads.  Apparently, while Olivia was napping, Sarah spent over an hour at my parents’ house lining them up just so, and then re-arranging them.  She was very proud of her creations!

Evan, I’m slightly more worried about.  He arrived home with this, his newest prized possession:

It’s a rusty old combination bike lock.  He tells me that it has been wrapped around the bike stand at school since he was in Primary.  When I started to let him ride his bike by himself last year, he started to spend a small amount of time each day he rode his bike, trying to figure out the combination.  He started at 1-1-1-1.  Guess how many tries it took?  The combination is 3-6-4-1.  Now that takes perseverance!

OMG!! They both are hillarious!! I can’t imagine even thinking of atempting the lock, how wonderful to be so dedicated to get the “prize” at the end (or just the feeling of accomplishment!!!) 😀

    Too cute.

    Sarah’s isn’t OCD, it’s artistic.

    And Evan’s isn’t OCD, it’s perseverance.

    Both good things.
