Fun Run

May 6, 2009

Evan, Alex & Sarah each ran in the Fun Run sponsored by Doctors Nova Scotia this weekend.  We got there early because only the first 500 kids registered received t-shirts and heaven forbid they not get the t-shirt!  This was the first time Sarah was at the event not strapped into the stroller (there are so many kids, it was always simpler to keep her strapped in with Olivia!) so she wasn’t exactly sure about the situation at first.  Not to mention that her t-shirt was slightly large on her and that insulted her sense of style.  (Oh my, are we going to have our work cut out for us in the teenage years!!)  Sarah got cold-feet at the start, so we ended up running the kiddie-k together, holding hands.  Evan & Alex each ran the 4.2k.  There was a bike giveaway when the race was over, and much disappointment when nobody in our family won a bike.  We tried to remind them gently that they didn’t need new bikes; theirs are just fine.  Sarah, actually was most disappointed that she didn’t get a balloon, I think!

We went through the McDonald’s drive-thru for lunch, went to pick Olivia up from my parents and the day was declared to be fun!
