Christmas Eve

December 26, 2009

Every year, we get together with D’Arcy’s family on Christmas Eve to enjoy a pot-luck diner and gift exchange between the cousins.  It’s a visit that we all look forward to with great anticipation.  We tried to count, and I think we had 42 people there this year, missing Kathleen & her family in Ottawa, Chris & Lisa in Calgary, and a couple of the cousins who had to work.  The big news of the night was that Emily wasn’t drinking and we will be welcoming another great-grandchild this summer!

Shortly before seven, people start to disburse to get to church or the other places they need to go.  We got everyone packed up and got home in time to welcome the Youngs, my parents, and my brother & Moushka.  We tried to get a photo of the four kids in front of the tree, but they were a bit too wound up…

Excited for Santa?!
